Our Story

Christina Hoehn, creator and owner of Cake Kisses, began experimenting with cake balls in December 2010 for a bakery competition at her workplace. While some entries featured concoctions comparable to "oreo balls" using various cookies and  cream cheese, Christina was inspired to mix cake and frosting instead. Of course at that point, she didn't know that cake balls and cake pops were bursting onto the dessert scene. Her co-workers loved the red velvet cake balls that Christina first made, followed by German chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and carrot cake.

Within a month of making these delightful desserts for family and friends, Christina took the plunge - creating Cake Kisses and officially hanging out her shingle. Her friends and colleagues immediately started placing orders and spreading the word about her product - especially the artistry of her decorating and the supermoist centers. She opened a booth at the 2011 Geauga Fresh Farmers' Market in South Russell, where she returned in 2012.

Her Cake Kisses quickly built a following, and customers began asking Christina to consider making Cake Kisses for weddings. After designing and delivering custom Cake Kisses for two weddings during Fall 2011, she found she loved working with prospective brides and their families. In addition to catering any special event, Cake Kisses is now listed as a local vendor on theKnot.com and will be continuing to promote their product at bridal shows in the Great Lakes region.

Christina has a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and currently works part-time as a mental health therapist at a private practice. While Christina doesn't have formal culinary training, her love of her craft and devotion to her customers continues to inspire her to experiment with her recipes, flavor combinations, and decorations. Cake Kisses is a homegrown, cottage bakery that offers lovingly crafted cake balls for your special day - and for any day!
